Paul Fowles - Gas and Plumbing
After 24 years service with the RAF, Paul was looking to start a new career in the plumbing and heating industry. He started on the basic gas course at Connaught Academy in June 2005 to work towards gaining his CORGI registration.
Connaught Academy arranged a work placement for Paul during his course, which resulted in full time employment once he was qualified.
Paul was extremely happy with the training and service he received from Connaught Academy. “Connaught Academy offered me the full package. Within 12 months of leaving the RAF, I’m working as a qualified Gas Engineer with my own CORGI registration.”
Andy Mills - Plumbing
Sergeant Andy Mills spent sixteen years in the forces; he decided it was time to end his service and look for a new career.
Andy decided to contact Connaught Academy to undertake a plumbing course using his resettlement allowance to fund it.
On successful completion of the course Andy said, "The tutors were happy to cover any points no matter how busy it got - they made me feel welcome and at ease."
The course has given Andy the qualification and experience he required and he is now hoping to set up a business with his brother who is already putting plumbing work his way.
