Gas
Connaught Academy delivers gas programmes at a variety of levels from NVQ or Basic Gas Utilisation programmes through to ACS qualifications.
We have an established Gas Assessment Centre managed by an efficient team of occupationally competent staff who have been in the industry throughout their working careers. Derek Downey, Jan Szymanski, Ray Morse and Grant Dodd are the main tutors for the delivery of gas qualifications and between them they have a wealth of experience in this industry.
Connaught Academy is accredited with the awarding body of the NICEIC to deliver all gas related qualifications.

Electric
Connaught Academy recognises the need for electricians to undergo continuous training in order to be fully prepared to work safely with electrics whilst gaining new qualifications.
We have recently developed a new Electrical Training Department to facilitate the industry requirement. Our courses vary from basic awareness to qualifications conducive to current and future Building Regulations.

Oil
Under Building Regulations, all installation and service engineers of oil fired heating equipment are required to become OFTEC registered. On successful achievement of OFTEC accredited oil courses, candidates will be eligible to join OFTEC. This will enable them to carry out work legally and gain access to OFTEC's members' benefits.
Connaught Academy have teamed up with an oil appliance manufacturer so candidates can receive a £250 voucher redeemable against their OFTEC registration on completion of their course at Connaught Academy.

Management and Supervision
The aim of these qualifications is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of Management and Leadership. They provide an insight into the principles and processes of Management and Leadership and aid career progression.
These awards are designed for first line and experienced managers or individuals who wish to gain qualifications that formally recognise their skills and experience.
Supervisory qualifications are designed for individuals entering a Management role or individuals who wish to gain a qualification that formally recognised their skills.
These awards are suitable for people who lead a team and are responsible for its performance. They are appropriate for learners who wish to progress to Management level.

Health & Safety
Connaught Academy offers a range of Health & Safety programmes to meet the high demand from employers. We provide bespoke courses specific to Clients' requirements, such as the Gas Management Awareness training session which was a recent success with local authorities.

Heating and Ventilating
Heating and ventilation fitters install heating, ventilation, air conditioning and extraction systems in all types of domestic, industrial and commercial buildings.
Systems range from chilled water air conditioning and/or central heating to pipework for transportation of natural gas. Fitting involves domestic and commercial work carried out to detailed plans and specifications. Fitters work with a variety of materials and therefore need to understand the properties and limitations of each type. Some fitters may be involved in setting up service and maintenance programmes.

Key Skills
Key Skills qualifications are intended for everyone from school pupils to chief executives in large companies. They are important to education and industry and can significantly improve learners' motivation, progression, achievement and employability. Employers value and look for these skills during recruitment and when considering candidates for promotion or additional responsibilities.
The emphasis of Key Skills is on the practical application of transferable skills to suit a variety of different purposes. Whilst they can be achieved as a stand-alone qualification they can also be integrated in to NVQs.
Key skills are available from Level 1 to Level 3 in Communications, Information Communication Technology, Application of Number, Problem Solving, Working with Others and Improving Own Learning and Performance.

Renewable Energy
This is a new area within the sector which has seen many companies grow within the market place. Due to the recent increase in fossil fuel prices and the environmental problems caused by the use of conventional fuels, we are reverting back to renewable energy sources.
Renewable energies are inexhaustible, clean and can be used in the same place as they are produced. They also have the additional advantage of being able to integrate between each other.
Solar energy has no impact on the environment as it is a natural energy and the origin of all other sources. It does not pollute nature, nor affect the countryside with pylons or electrical lines.
In light of the impending environmental concerns and seeking out available alternative energy sources for our ever growing supply demands, Connaught Academy are able to provide Solar Energy training courses.
