Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating

With the Government's recent changes to Building Regulations, installers and homeowners will need their heating and hot waters installations approved by a competent person in order to sell their home. This qualification allows installers to sign off their own work without having to notify building control and therefore will not incur extra costs.

1 day (plus 16 hours pre-study required before attending)

  • The importance of boiler efficiency.
  • The importance of an efficient hot water cylinder.
  • The importance of domestic heating and hot water controls.
  • How to commission heating and hot water systems and handover to the customer.

Qualification

NICEIC Certificate in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating

Entry Requirement

Installers and specifiers should meet one of the following:

  • Appropriate NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent qualification.
  • Accreditation and recognition of skills through an appropriate industry registration scheme, eg; GAS SAFE – ACS, OFTEC – 105E, UKAS.
  • At least 2 years industry experience in the installation of domestic heating and hot water systems, currently un-certified skills equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
  • At least 2 years industry experience in the provision of design and advice services for domestic heating and hot water systems at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
