Key Skills

The Key Skills qualifications are intended for everyone from school pupils, apprentices, to chief executives in large companies. The Key Skills are the skills most commonly needed for success in a range of activities at work, education or training and life in general.
The emphasis of the Key Skills is on the practical application of transferable skills to suit a variety of different purposes. Whilst the Key Skills can be assessed and achieved as a stand-alone qualifications, delivery may more commonly form part of broader learning programmes involving the achievement of other qualifications such as apprenticeship frameworks.
Key Skills are important to education and industry and can significantly improve learners motivation, progression, achievement and employability.
Employers value and look for these skills during recruitment and when considering candidates for promotion or additional responsibilities.

Key Skills Levels 1 to 4
Key Skills are delivered from Level 1 to Level 4 in Communication, Information Communication Technology, Application of Number, Problem Solving, Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Performance. They are an essential part to the success of everyone in education, training, work and general life.
