Redundancy Action Funding

Redundancy Action Funding (ReACT) is available for people who have been made redundant to assist tem with the costs of re-training for future employment prospects.

The ReACT Scheme is run by the Welsh Assembly Government and is designed to complement and supplement the service offered to redundant worker by Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales.

ReACT support is part funded by the European Social Fund and eims to address the needs of people who have been made redundant, or are under notice of redundancy, through a series of measure designed to remove barriers to obtaining new employment.

Support under the ReACT Scheme is available in respect of individuals who:

• have become unemployed in the last six months as a result of redundancy, are currently unemployed, and who     have not been in continuous employment for 6 weeks or more in the three months prior to the application for support; or,
• are currently under notice of redundancy; and,
• have not undertaken any publicly funded training since being made redundant, including the Work Based Learning suite of programs

Connaught Academy re-trains individuals with ReACT funding from the surrounding areas to prepare them for work in the plumbing and gas industry.
