Plumbers and heating engineers working with water installations and supply systems require training to be able to undertake the job correctly and competently. Connaught Academy delivers courses every month for local employers and individuals to familiarise themselves and achieve certification of the relevant qualifications to assist them with carrying out their work to specific criteria.
Connaught Academy is accredited with the awarding body BPEC to deliver these qualifications.
Disinfection of Water Systems (Legionella)
The Disinfection of Water Systems course is designed to meet the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and Guidance, Legionnaire's Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems. It focuses in particular on the disinfection of cold water supply systems. The aim of this course is to ensure operatives have the knowledge and skills to undertake the disinfection process.

Risk Assessment of Water Systems (Legionella)
The Risk Assessment of Water Systems course is designed to meet the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and Guidance, Legionnaire’s Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems. It focuses in particular on the disinfection of cold water supply systems. Risk assessments are suitable for supervisors/managers.

Unvented Hot Water Systems
Part G of the Building Regulations requires those installing or servicing unvented hot water units to be competent. This course deals with this issue and allows self certification of work, taking away the need of fitters to have their installations inspected by building control officers.
